Admin in question: what_console
Server: Tempest
when wasn't happy that the gameplay wasn't fair as team was staxxed slightly on one end this admin RS'd the map at the 7:30 mark during the last objective in hoth without warning nor explanation. The second time round due to a disconnection during the game at around the 12 min mark (on the codes objective) the admin noblely switched sides, then once again without warning decided to RS the map again, afterwards only offering "balancing" as the reason.
As i said, I'm not sure about how this issue is handled on this server so I'll leave it in your capable hands. I just didn't appreciate having to keep re-playing the same map that many times round for that long.
As an aside, the admin RQ'd on the 3rd time merry-go-round, after realising his actions led to 5 of the previous 8 players to leave and the fact that for whatever good intentions he had in rebalancing the teams only served to completely screw over the game and staxxing the teams far worse than it was initially.
Does multiple unwarranted RS count as abuse?
Re: Does multiple unwarranted RS count as abuse?
Yeah I saw him doing this a week or so ago too. He kept rsing hoth at the cc without anybody asking him to do so. He and ad.whatz were testing something about demping mines in short from the infirmary. Also once a game finally started going he sk'd as a d tesh and thought it was ok just because of stax or something . And when I started asking him why he was rsing and tesh sking, other people in the server told me to be quiet... kinda sad.

I like the approach that Baconiser took here... Instead of screaming OMGMADMINABUSE, a simple question of opinion was posed with supporting information. I'm just sayin'...

Re: Does multiple unwarranted RS count as abuse?
He did something a little like that the other day while I was on. Only 4 people, and bots. He offered to do a reset or something like that to get rid of the bots. He did, and ended up stacking teams 3v1 (I was the 1 =P). He made several attempts (or so he said) to fix this, but 'to no avail' (again, supposedly). Not sure if dude was tellin it straight or not in light of the info above.

I am responsible for him, so if things do not seem to work with what_console, guard will have to make a decision about him and my

I've been known to RS when it's fairly early in the map when the bots have screwed things up or dudes just switching on purpose.
But, ya...RSing can make dudes rage.
I usually take a poll if most dudes seem to speak English...otherwise, just wait for another map. :/

Re: Does multiple unwarranted RS count as abuse?
Hi All,
First up, thank you to Baconiser and Lorax for pointing out my
mistakes. I am learning to be an admin, as I started about two weeks
ago, and have found it challenging to make the right choices always.
To keep everyone happy.
Sometimes, its like being a politician, where no matter what you
do, someone will be annoyed...or worse, not tell you they
are annoyed, and post on the forum to explain your actions.
Pipes has corrected me, on some of my restart techniques,
(the reset thing Mike Mentioned)
and I have adjusted the way I go about making teams balanced.
Keeping bots in the game rather than out of the game etc.
As I live in Australia, I play tempest when there
are very few players on most of the time. So, when there are 2 people on, we sometimes
play the game a different way to make it interesting.
EG. If someone is interested in doing a sniper war, I would go along
with it, and switch to sniper. This means that when someone new comes along
and says I wanna play, we would restart to play the map in ordinary playing mode.
So to Lorax, ad.whatz and I were trying to work out some things in Hoth regarding
mines, and also the logic of the floors in the CC. He did tell you to shut-up,
and I didn't agree with that, but I cant control others actions.
Hope that explains it.
So, to answer Baconiser, I wish to apologise for doing too many restarts.
If I had known it would be such as issue, I would not have done that.
All I can do from here is learn from that mistake, and adjust my future
actions as admin.
I don't Rage Quit. I leave the game when needed.
I have a medical condition (bad back) that can make me need to stand up and stretch,
and/or go lie down and rest my back. Sitting for too long can cause this.
So when my back has recovered, I will return to playing the game.
I also find that extended game play can cause me to get RSI of the hands,
so I will stop for 20 mins to let it recover, then come back to the game.
If you've never had a bad back, you won't know what this means.
If anyone still not happy with me, PM me or let me know in game.
I have no intention of causing trouble, just wish to have fun
and play the game to the best of my ability.
Peace to all.

Seems to clear stuff up for me...anyone else?
Re: Does multiple unwarranted RS count as abuse?
I think we should let this one go, he seems sincere enough and can obviously see that he has done wrong.
Thought what_console was just a regular pubber though, didn't realise he was an admin.
p.s. fuck u pipe control your bitches!
