Zombie Skins

Post by Magyk »

Anyone interested in some zombie skins? I played for a few minutes today, and decided that the Shadow Trooper zombies are kind of lame.

I whipped up a mock-Kyle-zombie as a demonstration kind of thing.

Edit: The ingame screenshots are pretty dark, so I included the actual textures. Basically I turned Kyle's skin a more dead-ish color, threw some wounds on him and blood splattered his shirt.

Solid work, but personally if we're going to go this route I think we should do something along the lines of the "Death Troopers" novel. I haven't read it, but it seems like an interesting concept.

Hmm.. human heads are a lot easier to zombify then plastic helmets, but I can take a crack at making an evil-zombie-trooper. I might be able to cook something cool up, so I'll give it a shot sometime tomorrow. ;)

Looks pretty good. I'm working on something of my own, in line with my story.

Made a pretty sweet stormy zombie. I tried to stay true to this concept art:

You could replace the footstep sound with a zombie moaning one.

Okay, update:

If you look up above at the Kyle Katarn texture, it's got both sides to his head. In other words, if I wanted to put a scar on his left cheek or something, I could do it.
Now look at the Storm Trooper one: It's only got one half of everything, so when I retexture it it shows up looking doubled. I don't texture things in games that often, and haven't run into this problem before and have no idea how to get around it (if you can.)

So I ask you smart people: Is there anyway to get rid of that mirror imaging, and make it so I have two individual sides to a stormie helmet?

IG Screenshots that will show what I'm talking about: (I've already decided I'm going to get rid of that white dot that is in the middle of the blood stain under the eye. It just looks bad.)
