No, this is a straight texture replacement. It changes nothing on the map, and will run fine with normal hoth. I've been pugging with it for weeks now.

Here is how to install this if you want to yews it. This is not the finished product.



1.) Download the my texture file. http://www.mediafire.com/?12r98xbsq5bjyt0
2.) Download winrar if you haven't got it already. http://www.win-rar.com/download.html
3.) Right click hoth.rar and click "extract to hoth\"
IV.) Navigate to your program files\lucas arts\reborn boss academy\gamedata\base folder and find "Assets1.pk3"
D.) BACK UP ASSETS1.PK3.. You won't mess anything up, but in the event you don't like my textures and want the old ones back you'll be glad you did this. Just copy/paste assets1.pk3 and you should get "assets1-copy.pk3) you can just leave that in your base, so you have a copy of the original.
6.) This step can be tricky to dudes with limited knowledge: Go to your start menu and search for winrar; open it.
7.) Drag assets1.pk3 into the winrar window.
10.) Navigate to textures/hoth
9.) Copy ALL of my textures from the hoth folder you extracted to earlier into the winrar window. If it asks to replace any files, just be like "Yeah, bro."
11.) Fire up JA, you should be good to go.


It's a lot less confusing than it sounds, actually. If anyone needs screenshots I'll post some up. Or you can ask me on xfire what to do.


Edit: I'm not sure how the file/folder structure is for Mac users, but you should be able to yews these textures as well as long as you splice them into your assets1.pk3

We all know there will be dudes, who could never do this (yeah you've won it's Ceasar... no offense dude :) )
So I made a pk3 file:

The file is called: magyk_hoth.pk3
If you've downloaded any textures modifying before, you should rename this to zzzz_magyk_hoth.pk3 or something liek that. (the main clue is to put "ZZZZ" before the name)

heh, i just logged in to post the same thing... a pk3 of mag's textures. mine also included a levelshot but that's easy enough to add. nice work to you both.

Pretty damn sweet, if I do say so myself.

@ Magyk: To make a .pk3 for this, place the 'hoth' folder inside a folder named 'textures'. Make an archive of that with winrar. yews the encryption of .zip. Change the .zip ending to .pk3. Then generate the 'archive'. To upload directly here, put it in a .zip folder. Enjoy!

After 3 matches:
- the map is nice :) (still havent checked cave way to infarmary)
- but at the first obj i didn't really see my crosshair which is bad :S
So looks like i have to look after a new crosshair, or magyk can make me a red one :)

Oh sweet. I tried figuring out how to make a .pk3 with textures/hoth but couldn't get it for some reason. Thanks dudes.

I'll have to check out the crosshair thing and see what I can do about it. Also I think the scuffing/scratching is a little ridiculous in some areas, so I've been going back and toning it down - I'm still in the process of doing that. The more feedback the better though! :D

Edit: Which crosshair do you yews? I just yews 1, but I cycled through all of them and the only one I had trouble seeing was #7. I'll darken the snow a tiny bit and see how it works.

I yews the default crosshair, but in different sizes :), when i set the game to darker colors it was good, but i don't like that much darkness.
