League of Legends

Anyone else play?

This game is free, and it is pretty damn fun. I never owned Warcraft 3, so I never was able to get in on the original DotA fad, but this game made by the original creators of DotA is supposedly better anyways.

Add me if you guys play it, I've been messing around on it for the last couple of weeks: guardianx5

I once tried another Dota rip-off called HoN, Heroes of Newerth of something similar. Graphics was nice, but the gameplay was never the same as the original Dota. Aside from the game lagging a lot on my crappy computer, I couldn't take the time to understand all the new names of heroes and items.
I don't think I could be bothered to learn new names for every item and every hero and understand all the animations and all the other aspects of LoL (lol) when the game is in fact just another Dota. I just feel that if I want to learn something new, it's gotta be new.

The game was ok but I found it a little lacking. I discovered it about the same time as Battlefield 2142. I thought the squad play dynamic added a lot to objective-based FPS, and I couldn't see doing *yet another* guns-only (and vehicles) objective FPS without something interesting added.

It's quite fun, really.

I guess I like the way that it's human vs strogg and the strogg weapons are so much different from the humans', but it all kinda equals out in the end.

I also like the variety of really good maps.

League of Legends will be turning two this month, and with our second birthday closing in, we started feeling a bit nostalgic. With this in mind, we’re pleased to unveil the League of Legends Interactive Timeline. On this timeline, you can view all the upgrades that have been added to League of Legends since our launch back in October of 2009.

A lot can happen in a couple of years, and we think you’ll all agree that the game’s grown quite a bit since then. There have been quite a few developments in the world of Runeterra, including LeaverBuster innovations, two new maps in the matchmaking system, AI opponents, ranked games and ladders, and over 44 new champions in the League of Legends lineup! Head on over to the League of Legends Interactive Timeline to take a stroll down memory lane!
