This is a remapped Cargo with enhanced visuals (IMO). It has more room and minor things like the addition of a ninja route, fixed the wonky doors from Cargo, etc. This version removes all of the little detail from the vents which some people claimed got in the way (even though they were clipped off) but I removed them anyways. Also a new wook trick works on Obj 2. Oh, and the turrets don't shoot directly into the last D spawn any more.

The general layout and objectives are the same as Cargo. This version uses Cargo classes, and the .zip includes an extra pk3 (zzzjhoth_skins.pk3) which contains the Hoth-themed class models. The turret hacks are tech-only (I think anyone could hack in regular Cargo).

NOTE: Some people didn't like how the jhoth skins/models overwrote the Cargo ones, so if you were one of those people just don't yews the zzzjhoth_skins file.

I can literally think of no reason not to just leave this in your base folder (if you already leave Cargo in base).

BTW, I'm not sure the door I was talking about needs to be locked for defense after all.

Having it open makes it easier for the D to get to the launch...but, then vice-versa, too.

Hey Archi/J3rk, for the record, the php script I have in the jkasiege.com/maps/files collects all files in the directory and posts a link to download it on the temporary maps page. So all you have to do is upload a map file to that directory and it will automatically show up on the temporary maps page :)

Feel free to copy that script to any other part of the website where you want it to just show a list of all files and provide download links

yeah, that was my reasoning, just wasn't sure if it would play out that way. good to know, though.

EDIT: this is just a reminder that the current version (1b - which is on impulse) leaves the skins/models the same as cargo. also, since it uses the same classes as cargo there's no EOF. so basically, there's no reason not to leave it in base, even if you don't wanna play it (unless you can't afford the extra 5mbs of disk space.)

Ya, I think this is somehow even better than cargo...the last obj may be a bit easier too.

We should definitely be PUGing this map more to find out.

A few anomalies, now that we've actually played it:


Defense jan can't get through the bars in that vent we talked about. So either let them be breakable by demps or give d jan blaster? shrug

Oh and maybe those breaks in the ramp at 2nd obj? Really tricky to jump... should the obj be so strongly centered around being able to make that jump?

And maybe move the jan hack on the same side as the entrance so the jan isn't so exposed? Or is that not a good idea...
