The question is, how much more damage than punches does it actually do. I am actually not sure how much damage a punch does now that I think about it.

Since siege is often a close up game, I don't think you should just be allowed to pull out your stun baton and run up to someone and rape them. Siege is about guns, not melee.

Well you also have the same next to nothing defense you would have while having you stun baton out as if you had just melee out. Does it matter if they could damage stuff?
Both teams would have the same advantage, or disadvantage depending on how you look at it. The only thing it would potentially mess up is the round times, which if the other objectives are hard or lengthy wouldn't matter.
