Well squids, I was working upstairs late last night when someone kicked in my back door, attempting to do a home-invasion. I started cussing at the top of my lungs and grabbed my aluminum bat and to my surprise went all alpha male on the bastard(s)... They ran off and all is well, but now I have to get a new door. The scary thing is I know I looked like a crazy person standing outside without a shirt on, with a baseball bat, screaming "Come on back mutha-fuggers, come on!!! I Blame JKA :mrgreen:

, and my own adrenaline rush/stupidity. Don't try this at home, I was lucky they didn't have a gun....

Oh, and I do own a .38 special - only it was unloaded (for maintenance & cleaning) at the time.

Originally (from the production notes to TOS), the Phaser was a PHoton mASER, since at the time of writing the Laser was a relative unknown, and powers were not expected to be very great. Masers, on the other hand, were already very powerful machines which produce very destructive radiation pulses. This was an homage to the 1990 anime series Fushigi no Umi no Nadia, known in North America as Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water.
