steam, game uninstalling

So you may know I have mw2 cod6, whatever, today I finally got fed up by its lack of finding players/servers so I decided to uninstall it. It started steam and It's been uninstalling the game for like an hour now. Does it always take this long to uninstall something in steam?

Uninstall is usually close to instant. But I had it freeze the other day. Kill the process/restart and try again.

It was going on all day so I restarted my computer, and uninstalled steam itself (it was the only game i used it for).
