Basically an online version of risk with tons of added features.
The nice thing about it is that the creator is really open to listening to user suggestions and making changes. Also there are a ton of maps/ffa or team games/tournaments/no ads/a lot of stats and rankings which create great competion, and basically everything else you could ask of a strategy game.

If you like Risk, you might also like Settlers. www.playcatan.com It's also free (although it has cost me several hours already).
