That's where being a scaly helps. We're not out to mess each other up, so the sites are virus-free.

I came across an article some time back that stated that financial and retail sites are more likely to be targeted by hackers and thus more likely sources of malware than porn sites. If you install no-name "codecs" and "players" or get stuff from download sites like rapidshare or p2p, well you're just stupid.

Most viruses come through active scripting, Flash, ActiveX (moreso back in IE6 days), and downloads.
yews AV and Firefox with Noscript, Adblock, Flashblock, and BetterPrivacy, and only enable the things you want to see.
Some viruses can hide themselves from AV. Try searching for rootkits with this tool. There were others but they seem to be out of date (Rootkit Detective, Rootkit Revealer).

rkill

CCleaner

SuperAntispyware

Malwarebytes

Spybot

Avast (Has a firefox plugin that alerts you of suspicious sites.)

Sophos/GMER/TDSS

Also, run combofix after rkill if the above doesn't work and re-run everything.
