v :S v Nobody's ever tried anything on me yet, nobody's ever tried anything on anybody in my family outside of the incident at the convenience store. As far as I know, nobody I've ever considered a friend has been the victim of violence, nor has anybody in their immediate family. Maybe I just happen to live in a better neck of the woods than you lot. Maybe you should consider moving if you feel that your safety is lacking and your life is in constant jeopardy. I don't even know of anybody who knows anybody who has been murdered.

I said it half a dozen times, I'm not hating on people who are gun enthusiasts and like to learn about them, practice with them, or own them. I personally think that people carrying guns creates a lot more danger than it dispels, but I have a right to my opinion and as such others have a right to theirs.

Back to topic a bit, I just got my new toy - M1903A3 Springfield. Early graduation gift from my grandfather. I'll upload a pic tomorrow when I get some good lighting. Also heading to town tomorrow to potentially purchase a rifle as well, so there may be 2 pics. :D

This guy didn't really understand the Luby's thing.

You can point to all of these awful things that happened and say to me, "If there was a gun there this never would have happened." You may be right, and that certainly justifies you to carry a gun. These things will never happen to you, you're right. Never. They will also very likely (read: almost certainly) never happen to me.

high risk area.... which I don't and will never, the chances of [yadda yadda yadda}

Again the Luby's thing...

If you look at the murder stats for Killeen, TX....this dude committed about four years worth of murders in about 15 minutes....AND he almost DOUBLED that with 20 injured.

I'm confident that, if ONE other person in that cafe had a firearm and the ability to yews it, many lives could have been saved....it's all in the second vid I posted...
You're a free man in the US...you have your choices....

Just remember, dude, ...there are no respawns IRL.

Whatever the odds....I want them on my side if I can help it.

My point is one horrible event isn't cause for everybody else to fear for their safety. The chances of you ever needing a gun to protect yourself (unless you voluntarily put yourself in a situation which increases the likelihood) are astronomically low. If you want to carry a weapon because it makes you feel more comfortable, that's your choice. You don't need it to be safe in America, though. We're a relatively safe nation, outside of a very limited number of cities.
