Obvious choices:
1.) ACDC
With a wealth of hits, ACDC could easily put together the greatest 12-minute set list in the history of the Super Bowl.
Some kind of medley of Thunderstruck, Shoot to Thrill, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, and TNT would not only be amazing, but it would avoid some of their more risque hits that NBC would probably want to avoid (ie; Highway to Hell, Whole Lotta Rosie, Hells Bells) but fuck it - if NBC doesn't give a shit, include those too. Best halftime show ever.
2.) George Thorogood
No brainer here. Bad to the Bone, Move it On Over, Who Do You Love. Boom. Three hits. 12 minutes. Done.
For bonus points, if you want to do the whole "Guest act" thing they do sometimes, bring in ZZ Top to do a song or two. (Yes, I'm fully aware that ZZ Top did the Super Bowl before - but c'mon George Thorogood + ZZ Top = Epic.)
3.) Young Money (Lil Wayne, Drake, Tyga, Nicki Minaj - Bonus points for Eminem, Kanye, and DJ Khaled as guests.)
Now, I know you're thinking like "WOAH WHAT THE FUCK MAGYK. How dare you include these 'artists' in the same post as two rock legends?" Well, I don't think it's out of the question that the Super Bowl peoples are looking for new music (probably why they went with Beyonce, right?) and there is no one bigger/better than YMCMB. The point of this is that even if you don't like rap/hip hop - they're still better than Beyonce. It's not like it'd be the first time they'd have to curtail lyrics for Prime Time either, so no big deal there.
Potential setlist being a medley of songs: Drake's Headlines, Six Foot-Seven Foot by Lil Wayne, Rack City by Tyga, Super Bass-Nicki Minaj, and close the show with Forever (Drake/LilWayne/Kanye and Eminem closes it out.)
4.) Literally anyone but Beyonce.
Now, I hate country music. Let me repeat that. I HATE country music. There are maybe three artists, grand total in the entirety of the country genre that I can tolerate. (T-Swizzy, The Band Perry, Clint Black) and TWO of those are more hip-hop than straight country. On a normal day, I would listen to Beyonce over country. But for the goddamn sake of the Super Bowl even I would advocate for a country artist who has music that is ACTUALLY SUITED TO A "PARTY" ATMOSPHERE.
Fucking Beyonce. Yagaddabefuckinkiddinme.
