As the intention of the thread was about fixing the part lame on desert (not arguing over why nub left), let's get back to that, shall we?

It seems for what you (xeon) want to do, you can simply edit the .bsp file in a word editor (notepad/wordpad) and change the particular entity in question (likely a counter).

For a more complete step-by-step instruction, I found this: http://holonet.antarat.com/wiki/index.p ... ap_Modding

Still on the hunt for the korriban .map file, though...

EDIT: Attempted doing that for myself with no luck. I might be on to a command that converts a .bsp to .map file, though. Editing would then be possible from that direction.

EDIT THE SECOND: There is a command using radiant's compiler to decompile a .bsp to a .map. It does make a .map file, but it's completely empty, so I think I might have to give up the chase on this. Gonna trya few more times.

ok I tried these:

{
"zoffset" "64"
"origin" "3232 736 -512"
"angle" "180"
"model" "models/map_objects/desert/transformer.md3"
"classname" "misc_model_static"
"modelscale_vec" "1 1.5 0.76"
}
{
"zoffset" "64"
"origin" "2784 -2432 -512"
"angle" "180"
"model" "models/map_objects/desert/transformer.md3"
"classname" "misc_model_static"
"modelscale_vec" "1 1.5 0.76"
}
{
"classname" "misc_model_static"
"model" "models/map_objects/desert/transformer.md3"
"angle" "180"
"origin" "4528 -1136 -512"
"zoffset" "64"
"modelscale_vec" "1 1.5 0.76"
}
{
"wait" "0"
"targetname" "partdeliverzone"
"siegetrig" "1"
"team" "1"
"target" "partdelivercounter"
"classname" "trigger_multiple"
"model" "*83"
}

I used that command which was in that site, well it looks working, because the latest change date has changed, so I have a new bsp file for desert. I put it into a pk3 file, and started the server, the models still don't work (the invisible walls in stations), therefore I tested this transformer model in a fast made test map, I was able to see it there. Strange. Noone could help me at the last part (our community has very busy men ;)) so I do not know if I had successed with the trigger.

Well, I think they deleted the model, but left the clipping there. Taking that out should solve the problem as well.

yeah I've been thinking about taking out the clips, but they are brushes, so that would make the other players's game mad.

True, but since it's invisible already, there shouldn't be a visual problem. Just a slight catch as they move through it.

There is a bug on desert (the droid part bug) which you probably already know. I may can fix that, without you have to download something. So then we can upload it to Tempest, and we don't have to worry about it anymore.

Is it possible for the server and the clients to have different map files? Or what file(s) are you editing?

EDIT: Can't you two move it elsewhere? (I'd break a rule to suggest where.)

It is completely possible for the two to have different files, so long as you overwrite the map on your server (have a tweaked map with the exact same map name and directory as the original). For example, if I run a hoth map on my server with all base yavin textures, anybody who loads said map will have it appear as yavin textures, and their map in base remains normal hoth. Any custom textures on the map that the client doesn't have will show the annoying grey-with-white-lines 'missing texture' texture. Likewise, I can place various entities and/or move/remove the existing ones (such as spawn points, weapons, flames, models, and the like, I think triggers work, too, which allows for killfields and teleports and such,) on my map on the server, and each client will load and display them on their base maps. It's how all these FFA clans can make their own 'custom' map out of a base map, and still have anybody be able to log on and play the map.

If any one of you figures out how to do the server-side fixes for the maps, you will forever have my respect and admiration as a true champion of siege. That will be the last nail in the coffin to prove that despite what he may have thought, Nub was 100% replaceable and we never needed his faggotry.

I may also be inclined to give a prize to this hero who so boldly finishes lifting our collective middle finger towards Nub's way.
GUARD!AN

–noun
1. guarding; protecting: a guardian deity.
2. a violent, tropical, cyclonic storm of the western North Atlantic, having wind
speeds of or in excess of 72 mph (32 m/sec).
3. (in Gnosticism) one of a class of powers or beings conceived as emanating
from the Supreme Being and performing various functions in the operations of
the universe.
4. a terrifying dream in which the dreamer experiences feelings of helplessness,
extreme anxiety, sorrow, etc.
5. The sensation and muscular spasm caused by an electric current passing
through the body or a body part.

Given how xeon started working on it, I let him git-r-done. Not because I'm lazy....well, maybe a bit because I'm lazy, but not the main reason...but because it was his project. At least I had that impression.
