I asked around and double checked stories. This rumor started when Kera told Duo to ask Vail what happened to Jakab. Then Duo asked Vail, but Vail had no idea since Vail was also gone from the game world for a while too. Vail jokingly told him some story about talking to Jakab's sister on xfire. Vail assumed Duo knew that Jakab doesn't have a sister

Jakab was one of the most universally liked siegers to have played the game. That's not easy to do with a community like siege. It used to be much worse.
