People are overly concerned with what other people are doing and not concerned enough with what they themselves are doing. If you don't like homosexuality, don't practice it.

The fact of the matter is that the state has no place in the private lives of citizens. I oppose the idea that marriage has any legal bearing at all, it should be a private matter. Given that it has a legal precedence, however, there is a moral imperative dictating that it needs to be offered equally to all citizens, without exception.

The only questionable part of the equation, for me, is whether or not gays should have any legal repercussion against any institution that refuses to marry them. You have a right to get married, you don't have the right to get married where you want. If it goes against a churches beliefs to marry homosexuals, you can't impose YOUR personal desires upon their system of beliefs. You should file for marriage with the state.

I never understood why gays didn't start their own Church o' Gays and then get married under the first amendment. (Also under separation of Church/State)

Just make a god named Queero and worship him and make a system of beliefs that includes Queero telling you to practice homosexuality or something. There is a religion for reborn boss, and a religion called Dudeism (the religion of the Big Lebowski) so I'm pretty sure gays could come up with something at least quasi-believable for a religion.
