1) Seahorses tend to live in rather shallow waters, and therefore almost exclusively close to shore.

2) By scientific convnetion (which is international agreement), they are in the genus Hippocampus, which was named after the 'sea horses' that pulled the chariot of the Greek god Posiedon.

When Clarence the seahorse was growing up his parents put him down all the time. One day his elderly seahorse grandparents told him that he could be anything he wanted to be as long as he put his mind to it and worked hard. He decided to become a seadragon. He worked. He trained. He fought and scrapped. He started from the bottom, just a lowly seahorse. But now much like Gandalf went from Grey to White, Clarence has gone from a lowly seahorse to a fierce and mighty seadragon.

He has overcome many obstacles in his life, and you certainly will not deter him from being what he was always meant to be.
