Yesterday evening, someone used rcon to change some settings (game breaking) on my server, in a clear act of sabotage. Whoever it was used a VPN, and I haven't looked at the logs properly yet, but I would imagine it is untraceable. Fortunately, blackout was playing at the time so was able to reverse the changes quickly and easily, and let me know while I was in work so I could get the cpanel password changed.
Whoever it was may have thought they were attacking me, but in reality, as this is the only active public server, it was just an attack against siege and our community. I thought we all wanted siege to be played by as many people as possible, as this is beneficial for our community.
I don't expect the culprit to come forward, nor do I think throwing out accusations will be fruitful, because, as the sabotage itself was extremely cowardly, the person will probably just deny it. However, if anyone has given someone else (or let slip) the rcon password for European siege public, please tell me. Also, if anyone in the know can tell me about any potential exploits someone could have used to actually steal the password, I'd be grateful.
If someone did this because they don't like me, be a man and stop changing server settings you pussy
