How am I an ass for telling him what he did wrong?
Isn't that what you're supposed to do as his sponsor pipin?
I didn't even say anything about punishment yet...

But, ya...RSing can make dudes rage.

I usually take a poll if most dudes seem to speak English...otherwise, just wait for another map. :/

Wow, thanks everyone for their quick responses,
I hope I've helped resolve the issue for futures game play.

Ok, I have one query out of this, as Piipe asked me to explain,
So, I guess its ok for me to expand on whats been written (its on topic)

First Query, is a Poll, a good way to do a query of restart to players ?

I find asking everyone by text chat is cumbersome, as lots of times
no-one answers, as they're busy playing. Then they go WTF and say you're an idiot, when you
do a restart. Well this has happened to me...

I'm thick skinned and can take txt abuse, like water of a ducks back...
but I like the sound of a simple software side diplomatic action like a Poll.

And the group reset I'm never doing again, as you loose 25% of your players
each time guaranteed.

see ya Gaming sometime.

While my first post in this thread is true, I think that this whatconsole guy deserves some consideration after all. He's definitely not Guardian-ish, policy-wise. :)

Well, I just meant 'POLL' as in...ask other dudes using in-game chat.

I dunno what level of admin you have but I believe there is an ampoll option...thought it was kinda buggy tho. Or you could yews ampsay -1 if you have the access.

Generally, I find that most peeps on tempest either don't speak(read) English or simply wish to ignore dudes.

what_console, before logging into admin again, please read and understand all of the content within these links:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=125

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=70

In the second one, I detailed every command available to you and WHEN to yews it.

You are enforcing the above rules, not your own sense of what is right on the server. Impulse is the place where admin discretion is needed, not Tempest.

To all admins, you should have read and understood everything in those links before even thinking about using admin as well...

I do appreciate you being open-minded and humble, what_console.

Hey Guardian,

Thank you for showing a personal interest in this issue.
I did read both those links thoroughly before starting out.

I think I got myself into trouble by using my own sense
of what was right, at the time. It was late, and I was
not in a happy place...

So to prevent any repeat;
I will make sure I dont login to admin, if I ever
get in that same state of mind again.

Prevention is always better than cure.

regards,
