Not playing anything now; work is pretty busy. We'll see what happens when the Radeon 7000's land around the end of the year.
I have to admit, it's a pretty decent game. This is coming from someone who has basically played everything there is to play in terms of battlefield games, which actually gives me a negative bias right now. There are improvements from the pile of excrement better known as BC2 but it makes a lot of the same mistakes.
Basically, this game is good if you don't want to play it in ladder matches or in any sort of competitive fashion. There's a lot of polish in many areas. Battlelog can be a bit annoying but they've made up for it by allowing you to customise your weapon accessories and loadout, not only for infantry but for vehicles as well, which is pretty awesome. Almost all unlocks in this game that allow you to do fancy things with vehicles and weapons are obtained by using the thing you want unlocks for; I.e. using an attack type chopper gradually unlocks useful customisations for the attack choppers, using the lando type choppers unlocks stuff for the lando type choppers. Weapons are the same, in order to get grips, specialised sights, ammo types and other things for say the UMP45 or the 870 MCS, you need to yews that specific weapon. No other weapon will give you the unlocks for that.
Graphically, this game is probably the best looking PC FPS game bar none right now. It looks and feels absolutely fantastic. The animations in this game are spot on, the movement of your own soldier is virtually perfect from your perspective (diving into the prone position, A+) and movements of others look exactly like they should.
There are some issues with crashing and a bit of lag but overall these are pretty few and far between. I'd expect a patch to come any day now to fix that up. There's a lot missing from this game that should be standard for a FPS series that has been focussed heavily on multiplayer (BF2 didn't even have a singleplayer) but, again, if you're not playing this competitively you probably won't even notice that they aren't there. Also, EA's new 'must have to play this game' program, Origin, really annoys me. EA like being complete fuckwits to their customers though, so it's nothing new.
See image for truth:
Despite all the shit EA has lumped with it though, the game is still good enough to buy.
