What am I missing? Does it live up to the hype?
Not playing anything now; work is pretty busy. We'll see what happens when the Radeon 7000's land around the end of the year.

I really enjoyed the immediate response of being able to identify a person from the background. Realism can blow me. Every time I play a shooter now I have to rely sole upon the enemy actively moving/shooting to be able to identify them reasonably quickly.

Also Punkbuster which the entire Battlefield series uses has always scanned your PC's running processes to look for hacks.
Nothing is going to change about ever-increasing privacy intrusion unless a significant percentage of the potential consumers boycott the product, which isn't likely to happen.
