Yeah, you're right. Someone who lead a relatively normal life with expected measures of success suddenly started participating in an activity, upon which his life turned into a miserable failure. It's entirely inappropriate to label such an activity as "awful."
I don't know a single person who's gone from a straight a student with a steady job of half a fucking decade who's gone to a straight f student unable to keep a job because of owning a pet or donating to charity. That's a stupid fucking parallel to draw.
But since you need some clarification, I'll explain. The kid stopped studying and doing homework so he could spend all night looking at his creepy fucking dog porn and posting in internet dog porn communities while archiving every single picture from his favorite dog porn artists. He almost got suspended from school (back when we were still in highschool, when all of this started) because he kept setting his school computer's desktop to creepy softcore dog porn pictures, and he walked around with dog porn on his PDA and kept showing it to female co-workers, which got him fired from his job, and the three subsequent jobs he got in whatever period of time (it's been a while).
He alienated himself from most of his friends because of his creepy dog porn shit. Myself only having spoken to him maybe a dozen times in half as many years, all I know is that he very much struggled to get his 2 year degree in 4 years from a community college. Prior to his dog porn viewing tendencies developing, he literally got ONLY a's.
I think that's a pretty drastic difference in his life. I mean, it's not like I'd known him for 12 years prior to him getting into the shit or anything, so maybe I'm not an appropriate judge of character.
Hi. I'm angry on the internet.
