The unbanning I'm happy with and I respect the fact that you made that decision. However, I don't see why you need to do the rest. Why not just lock the thread, keep it for its original purpose and set up a separate thread for commentary like you said?

Well, I'm not nubbing it...just FINALLY convinced to try move on from this game and this community. Like J3rk and others who are not douchebags and don't find it funny the way you guys do to be shitheads to each other.

Provided that this is true, perhaps it wouldn't have happened if you weren't acting like a prick. There's other people who aren't rated as high as you skillwise and also make small mistakes like that, but because they're not perceived as pricks, most players tolerate them regardless. But being a prick AND not delivering in the video game gives them no psychological incentive to keep you around.
