Got one here, too. Awesome gun. Only problem with it is if you don't control yourself, you burn through lots of ammo very fast.

I also like the Henry H001...Lots of fun to play around with.

I'm guessing he's fired .223/5.56 in JROTC.

The sound shouldn't bother him.

The ammo isn't cheap though....He could always get whatever kind of AR he likes and then get a .22 conversion kit for it if he plans on/winds up shooting a ton.

As for handguns, I personally won't carry anything less than a .45, but Tricia has been looking at a Walther P22 that is quite sweet....If I were gonna carry a .22, that would probably be it. (That is, without actually ever having fired one.)

Turkey, I'm not really an EXPERT on firearms, but I know quite a bit....enough to point you in the right direction.

Ask me on vent any time you feel like talking about it.

And yet many personell in the middle east buy their own .45s and ammo because the 9mm just don't cut it. You can take a 9mm and keep going. No matter where a .45 hits you, you go down, even if it's not leathal. Been shown time and again. Military is a 9mm because the gov is too cheap, as 9mm ammo costs less than .45.

I've used both the M1911 and the Beretta. No doubt about it, 1911 all the way. It's got the power, the feel, and the accuracy. Take a double-stack, and the beretta looses its superior ammo capacity, as well.

The PPK is pretty fun, got one of those. Not much stronger than a .22, but still fun to play with.

I'll admit that nines probably pack the most punch for your penny, but a .45 is a .45.

I love my glock, but I really need a 1911...which most special forces(SEALs, Rangers, etc..) can still yews...probably mostly the old-schoolers.

The sig is a nice weapon, but are too ugly, IMO, and don't handle nice for me.

You HAVE to be comfortable with whatever you carry or it really does no good.

Bottom line is....I don't think you can really beat Browning's 1911 design...almost every semi-auto handgun is based on its design.

Nostalgia and and over 100 years of proven reliability...can't beat that.

Just realized that I just repeated pretty much everything that the Scaly Dude wrote..lol

p.s. -- Transformers fans....the Classic Megatron was a Walther P38 when he transformed....I think only used by Starscream or Soundwave in the OG cartoon.

p.p.s. - I find it hard to believe that people who play games like this don't realize that it sorta mirrors RL.

If you are out in the world and not equipped to deal with people that want to kill you over what may be in your wallet, or because you are a certain color, or because you are in their territory or for whatever reason, then you are doing yourself and your family a disservice.

There is a saying here in the US...."If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."
