It's not as easy as you'd think. Trust me.

Really? I haven't had much trouble with it at all. Neither do most of the civilized people in the world.

I'm not going to judge or hate on people for liking guns as a hobby, but to talk about "stopping power" and theorizing what's best in a self defense situation is just plain silly. Unless you're in a profession where firearms are relevant, you have no business even thinking about that. It's much wiser to avoid situations which would necessitate a firearm.

I like obligatory Kera post about how we should suck everything enjoyable out of life. No personal preferences for you! Everyone gets the same thing.
This guy wants to live in a communist country.

Any modern firearm will be sufficient for home defense. The rest is purely how it feels in your hand, what you like shooting is purely your preference and will vary from person to person. Arguing about preference is a pointless endeavor.

I'll assume you've never had anyone break into your house, then? My (at the time my grandfather's) 1911 saved my property, possibly my life. I'll also make the assumption that you live in a bubble, and will never be placed into the situation where someone may attempt to mug/harm you or people close to you.

When it comes to self-defense, there's a lot more to it than just that it feels good. Obviously, you need something accurate and reliable. Things like black powder guns don't fit this, so they're right out. Also, you need firearms That are strong enough to stop your target, but aren't so powerful that they start flying through your walls, and if they leave the target's body, they shouldn't be overly hazardous. A .22, .25, or .32 can work, but more likely than not, they'll be a major nuisance rather than a full-stopping force. Some people may be stopped by these bullets, others not. 9mm is on the low end of this effective range, with the 45 topping it off. In the middle are your .38, .38 special, .357 mag, .44, and .44 mag. Rifles are more complicated. Most rifles are too over-powered for effective home yews due to penetration. Pretty much knocks off the military and hunting rifles. A .223 might be a tad overkill, maybe not. There are a nice variety of lever-action rifles and some semi-autos that yews the same handgun bullets I listed before, and would proove useful. A semi-auto .22 could work, due to the ability to send a large number of little bullets in the same place. Finally, we have shotguns. They're a bit more suited to home-defense, as they are powerful at close range, but become rather ineffective at longer ranges, depending on the spread of the shot caused by the gun itself. Meaning you can blow a hole in a guy, but not necessarily your wall beyond.

Then there's your bullet type. Most effective seems to be the hollow-point

Need I point out that Kera also doesn't like sports.

I'm reasonably certain he wants to live in a world where everyone drives the same 1976 Buick 4-Door to work everyday, stays there from 9-to-5, and goes home to eat meatloaf and watch the Wheel like a good little drone. Personal interests aren't important anyway, right?

I am in school to become a cop.

and as far as Turquoise being able to place 2 bullets in someone face while running or being shot back at, I would love to see it lol.
